Our Hopper is quite a few years old and lately, has been freezing. Typically, we can leave it alone and in a minute or two, the show will resume. One time, I had to hit the reset button. I'm thinking hard drive issues. What do y'all think?
I wouldn't think so. I have the TV, Hopper, Blue Ray and Denon video amp all plugged into the same surge protector and everything else is working properly. It did it again this morning. It was just like someone hit the pause button, waited about 5 or more seconds and hit it again. Sometimes when it happens, we'll see pixilation (spelling?). This time, the picture was perfectly clear and motionless. Is it possible it is an electrical issue, maybe grounding? I have seen similar things on the old VIPs when grounding was bad/non existent.
Is it freezing or pixelating ? If you mean playback is pausing, I'm still thinking HDD issues. If it harkens during live TV, check cabling.
Try a different HDMI cable and/or a different input on your TV. Next is cabling from the dish to the receiver.
You've NEVER seen it during recordings ?
