Hopper pricing

So I've seen a pricing sheet floating around and I noticed that plan C has people paying 200 for hopper plus 100.00 per Joey. Anyone know if this pricing is false? That's laughable if dish classifies me as a plan C customer and expects me to shell out 300 bucks. If that's the case I'll talk with customer retentions and see what they can offer me. 99 bucks and a free Joey I can deal with but not 300 bucks.

I've heard they want everyone to have it and at 300 bucks that's a lot. Yeah I know I got free equipment when I signed up but still.. The ability to not be able to watch recordings in the bedroom sucks. Hopefully the pricing is reasonable.
 
Why not just add a VIP receiver in the bedroom and use an EHD. If you are financially not able to obtain a Hopper no says you have to.

If you're a plan c customer there is a reason they want that much money from you. To Dish you must be a high risk customer and they want money upfront. Most plan c customers have had troubles paying bills on time and have a history of disconnects.

The only way you know what plan you are is to call dish and find out what an upgrade cost. Majority of customers are plan b.
 
So, the plan designation doesn't have anything to do with how recently you signed up, or ugraded, or entered into a new 24-month commitment?

It may partially. No one actually knows other than dish. It also has to to with payment being on time, level of programming and other details. That is really all anyone knows.

Possibly. Just ask one of them. I'm not sure if they will tell you specifically what plan you are but they could tell you hoe much an upgrade would cost.
 
Well I spoke with a dish rep about customer pricing A B and C. He told me I was on the B. when I asked what the difference was he said that A customers are ones who have been long time loyal customers. B customers are ones who are new and in good standing currently. C customers are ones who have been late or have a bad payment history with dish. I'm guessing that customers who are a might get it for free and ones who are B will pay 99 bucks for the upgrade. Then ones who are C customers will have to pay 199.

Did you ask or did he say what constitutes "long time" customer?
 
How did you find out? I was just told that it was confidential as to what plan you are on.
 
I suspect someone was "winging it."

My bet is that the level of service - i.e. Your monthly bill, probably also has a lot to do with your being classified as an A versus a B customer.

It has to do with a lot of things. All anyone can do is speculate. Retailers don't even know how the system works.
 
If you have a history of non-pay disconnects, it will bump you to plan C guaranteed.

Generally everyone goes under Plan B, with very few exceptions for Plan A.

Dish keeps on screwing with the Qualifications for plan A, where as everyone is plan A and everyone is sometimes plan B
 
A proper response from dish or a retailer when inquiring about an upgrade is your cost involved, nothing else. Whether or not your an A, B, C plan or premium customer should not matter as this info is solely proprietary and am surprised it has been allowed to be openly discussed on a public forum.

That's really the best way to look at it. Might as well stop asking because there will never be an exact answer from dish.

You're right, it shouldn't be discussed. It makes it hard to discuss what a person's cost will be to upgrade though. We like to give customers a general price and tell them I won't know until I look up their account to see what they qualify for.
