Spoke to a tech today at local satellite store...

They had a hopper and joey they had been shown and the one big complaint they had was that the remote is uhf...what is the big difference between that and ir???and is that a deal breaker???

he also said there will be a hopper blocker (I'm not sure thats the exact name he used) but he told me you will be able to block others in your house from seeing whats on a certain hopper ( I'm assuming thats after dish releases the software to pair hoppers together)...just wanted to know if anyone else had heard this

Thanks in advance

My biggest issue with the Hopper is that a huspand can be watching Porn in 1 room, and the wife can see that her huspand is watching porn from another room.

That right there is a deal breaker for alot of people. The second the huspand gets caught, the huspand is calling Directv to take the hopper out.

As far as the isolators, its for situations where you might have a single Dish sharing 2 Homes. Directv has got the same thing with the Band Stop Filters to prevent the MRV from backfeeding to other receivers on a different account.

As far as remotes being UHF, thats usually a positive unless a customer wants to use a universal remote.

Are there really wives that don't know their husbands watch porn? Heck, sometimes my wife watches the soft-core porn with me, because it's so laughably bad and horribly acted. There's this woman on Skinemax we call Pig Girl because of her horrible nose job.

But I digress.

Sounds like that guy needed to spend more time wife-shopping than TV provider shopping. Everyone knows all good wives watch porn with their husbands. :D;)

By "that guy" I meant the customer in question...not Claude. LOL

Really, that's your biggest issue with the Hopper?? Like others have said, watch it together. It's more fun that way.

What about the porn showing up on the bill?? Oh yeah, paperless billing!!! :eureka:

Also, what's a huspand??

If it was soooo important to watch porn without your wife knowing why wouldn't you just get 2 Hoppers and have them isolated. If that is the biggest drawback of the Hopper then some people have some personal issues.
