The Boilermaker State (#19)
Today I bought a Pansonic Plasma TV. It has hook ups for 2 components and 2 video. I have the 922 and the Satworks running in to the video ports. I have the Quaili TV running to the component ports. Everything is fine with the 922 and the Satworks, but with the Q I am getting audio, but no video. I have the Y, Pr and Pb
cables running from the Q to the Y, Pr and Pb hook ups on the TV. I have never messed with this component stuff before so I am asking for a little help here.

Thanks,
Jim

Component cables are just for video. It separates the colors more. You still need to run the audio cables. S-Video is the same way

I know on my DVD recorder there is an option for component or regular A/V cables but the audio is the same...whatever source is using the audio :)

So in essence, it takes 5 cables between the TV & the Quali (3 for component and L/R output)

Tony,

Had the cables ran right, just had to set the Q TV. I had to hold the yellow button on the remote down until Rgb came up on the display then hit the yellow again until Pbr showed. Hit Comp 1 and the the ole Q was on.

Thanks

Another thing I recently found, is that if one of your component video cables isn't seated completely, you might not get any video.
Or, you might get garbled-looking video.

I was at a computer fair today and wanted to get a couple of extra component cables.
I couldn't decide whether to spend $8 for 3-wire six-footers, or go for $14 for 5-wire that included the audio as Iceberg mentioned.
What if I want to run optical or digital audio? Decisions, decisions!

Just cruised the MonoPrice web site.
Guess I'm glad I came home to double check.
Even with shipping, this should go well !
examples:
Product ID: 960 6', 3-wire, RCA, RG59, component for $1.89 ? (cheaper than dubbing cable, below)
Product ID: 320 6', 5-wire, RCA, RG59, component for $5.28 ?
Product ID: 619 6', 1-wire, RCA, RG59, digital audio for $3.41 ?
Product ID: 660 6', 3-wire, RCA, RG59, composite dubbing for $3.56 ?
If you get their "premium" cables for more money, you're still way off the Monster Price!
