How can this be done? Is it done before or after the box? What is used to change the channels? I have 2 satellites on the roof, one HD and one SD. Right now, the HD one is hooked to a 422 box and there are two tv's running. I see the previous owners had many tv's hooked to these two.

hmm could be a whole different range of ways to do it. give more details on your setup, provider, which dish, any switches and im sure i could give you a walkthrough
Also it would be nice to have the correct receiver # there is no 422 but it could be a 222/322/522/622/722 or a 922.
Sorry it is ViP222k. Have 2 satelittes on roof. 1 at HD and 1 SD. Right now only HD is being used. Cable comes into basement and then goes to room where main box listed above is. Other room has attenna attached to cable line in.
Still need specific info, what sats do the dishes point to, type lnb's and do you have a switch, if so which?
you most likely have a diplexer in the basement
it looks like a splitter, but should be labeled differently
the uhf port on this is feeding the 2nd tv and can be run to a splitter
whatever tvs you add will need to be set to the same channel as tv2 is now, usually 60 or 73 and will view the same program at the same time and use the same remote

By splitting the sd feed from the receiver to multiple tv's. This can be done, and if the receiver is set right, these tv's can share tv1 or tv2 but not watch something independent of the other tv's.
