From Dish [http://www.dishnetwork.com/redirects/promotion/25days/default.aspx
On Channel 556 from 12/21 to 12/25
Starting on December 21st, enjoy a special gift from DISH Network this holiday season:
5 classic Christmas movies avilable in PPV for only a nickel each!

December 21st - A Charlie Brown Christmas
December 22nd - A Christmas Story
December 23rd - National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
December 24th - Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Note: not the animated version)
December 25th - Elf

I have most of these on DVD, but at five cents, not horrible...I hope this helps someone. :) I also wanted to make sure for those to read before going PPV crazy thinking all titles are five cents. :D

Thanks for the info

I too have them on DVD and they have all already been or soon will be on "free" TV. So it's not a big deal in my book! For me a better christmas present would be putting up the EA dish that I have needed since Feb (at no charge).

Why would anyone pay(even 5 cents) for movies that will be on many many times between now and Christmas on non PPV channels?
TBS usually does "A Christmas Story" for 24 hours straight.

When I try to rent a Christmas movie from Netflix at this time of year, it's HOPELESS. So this deal has it's uses.

How do you know this ? If you're basing it on the channel # slot, isn't 556 a 'new' channel (temporary) for PPV ?
I based my assumption on the fact that 556 is in the SD PPV channel block. I would be pleasantly surprized if I am wrong, because I wouldn't mind recording a couple of the movies to archive, providing that they won't disappear in 24 hrs.

IF DISH wanted to give us a Christmas Present they would give all theirs subs either a .99 cent or a FREE pay per view in either sd or Hd.
