I have a dish aimed at Hispasat 30 W with a dual universal LNBF.
I want to connect 4 receivers to this dish.
Can I use a 3X4 Directv multi switch for this and then send the 4 outputs
of the multi switch to 4 diseq switches which also has 97 degrees connected.
Then the four diseq switches would be connected to the 4 receivers.
Is this correct.

Thanks for any help

honestly the easiest way (and simplest is this)
-swap out the universal for a standard dual...30W only needs a standard
-get a 4x4 switch
-hook up as such (thanks to anole for the pic)

one switch for all :)

Thanks for the help.
Why would a linear LNBF be better then a universal LNBF?

Thanks again.

A 4x4 switch uses the 22khz signal to select the second LNBF. A universal LNBF uses the 22khz signal to select it's high band local oscillator, and high band is what is needed in this situation. If you have one standard and one universal LNBF then it's possible to place the universal LNBF at the 22khz ON input so that high band is always selected. BUT...the 4x4 switch must be of the type that will pass the 22khz signal through the switch to the LNBF, and I have seen some switches that wouldn't do this. So it's best to use standard LNBF's with a 10750 Mhz LO in this configuration

Hispasat 4 receivers 3X4 multi switch

I scanned 35 free channels using a universal LNBF.
I took Iceberg's advice and changed to a standard linear LNBF.
I dumped the memory on my coolsat 5000 and now scanned 43 free channels.
I then connected 3 receivers and the LNBF to a 3X4 multi switch.
Before I connected the switch my quality was 90, after connecting switch, 60s.
Some channels were breaking up.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Would connecting a 4th receiver make any difference? I only have 3 right now.

Thanks again for any help

No. no difference at all. Check if the switch is ok. Also on that bird a Standard or A Universal should have landed the same channels because in NA there are no channels below 11700 Mhz unless weather changed or the skew on the second LNB was not ok or some other problem. I use a non powered 3x8 Eagle Aspen switch that works ok.

Iceberg suggestion is a cleaner one , more recommended, but your original idea also works.

I'll try another multi switch and also check the skew on the LNBF.

Thanks for the info

sounds like a bad switch possibly

I've used Zinwell 3x4 and 4x4 switches in my setup and the drop is minimal (like 1-2 points max)
