Should the Hopper Internet Connector (HIC) be used for a Hopper 3 and 4 Joey 2.0 install? or is there another way that it should be connected.

HIC not needed. Hook Hopper to Ethernet cable.

It's usually used when it's not possible to connect via ethernet cable or wireless. I have one (two actually). They do the trick!
