here we go again, another dispute between Dish & Tegna impending

OTA will not be affected.

Great. Like I said I never though of that.

I just submitted a question asking where the blackout was and why no updates on our local TENGA site, thinking it'd take some time for a response, but it came within minutes:

"Thank you for contacting us.

We understand your frustration with these types of corporate disputes. We certainly don’t expect you to take sides in this negotiation.

Our goal is simply to reach a fair agreement with DISH through direct negotiations between our companies. That’s how we’ve reached hundreds of agreements with every other distributor in the country, including DIRECTV, Comcast, Spectrum and many others. We truly believe that if DISH is willing to negotiate with us, we can reach an agreement.

We know that while these negotiations are happening it can be tough on you. Our sole focus is getting a deal done as quickly as we can and keeping our viewers updated about the situation and the choices you have to get our programming. Any announcements about our negotiations with DISH will be made on our website, our Facebook page and our Twitter account.

You can help resolve this matter. Call DISH at 1-855-512-7790 and tell them to keep KUSA and KTVD.

Alternatively, KUSA and KTVD has agreements with every other provider in our area, and we are always available free over-the-air. In addition, you can watch KUSA and KTVD programming on many over-the-top (OTT) providers who offer instant access when you sign-up. Click here https://www.9news.com to learn more about your options.

Thank you for being a loyal part of our KUSA and KTVD community.

I love how they "inserted" the other providers that they have "played nice" with . . .

WISC is part of a different ongoing negotiations with Morgan Murphy Media.

Ok, didn't know that. I wasn't sure who owned the station. I assumed that it was all part of the dispute that everyone else was talking about since the dates were the same. Is there some correlation?

As far as I know, no correlation. These takedown messages started 1 day before Tegna's messages so who knows.

Denver just announced 9pm. Kyle Clark on Next made a big deal about the crawler and that it was "business" and that he/the newscasters were not a part of it.

According to the WISC website, the extension Dish just accepted is the 18th extension since negotiations began four months ago.

Update on WISC-TV, DISH contract negotiations

Oops! Wrong retrans dispute!

Love their explanation about there is no reason for fees to be passed on to viewers. That's what I would expect. These other site that aren't saying anything, makes my think they're hiding something.

On that note, Both the Univision stations in Seattle & Portland are not owned by Univision, so does that mean Dish has a dispute with that corp too?
Sinclair owns the Seattle affiliate, KUNS. And it's been off dish since the Univision kerfuffle began. In fact, all Univision has left on dish is Fusion. Not sure why dish doesn't give Telemundo a bit of an upgrade, but then I don't speak Spanish or spell the word 'and' with only the letter y.

UPDATE: On king5.com the typical retrans propaganda states the station (and independent sister channel KONG/6-16) could go bye bye from dish by 8 PM PT unless both sides make good. An onscreen crawl started appearing during NBC Nightly News. Al Michaels and Jimmy Fallon fans, if you reside north enough of Everett invest in a suitable antenna and point it toward Vancouver,BC. CTV Vancouver will be your best friend for life. I'm in Anacortes and I have two yagis under my roof and they work well.

One other thing, DON'T CALL dish! Call the station and let them have it, not that they'll care.

This might really upset a bunch of folks in Austin if KVUE is taken down for Saturday’s UT vs OU Big 12 championship game.

Maybe not because DISH has the Pac10. :biggrin
But if the Tegna station in whatever part of Texas this station's in happens to be the ABC affiliate there will be hell to pay. KVUE is, they'd better be prepared for a visit from a very mad BEVO. ESPN had better be prepared for the potential onslaught of 'volunteers' on their video steam, too.
