IMO the WR depth chart listing should be this:
1. Murphy/Schillenz
2. Schillenz/Murphy
3. Fargas/McFadden or Higgins or if 4-wide no TE it should be Zach Miller
4. DHB... perhaps matched up against a safety or LB he can make a play
5. one of the guys left over from 3.
Louis Murphy is too good to be sitting at number 4 still, I don't get it. He comes in and makes 1-2 good plays every game now, late in the game when they're going to 4+ wide sets. He was doing well earlier in the season when they had injuries there, apparently the coaching staff didn't notice?
This should be a much better team next year, but the Patriots will probably be pretty happy with the 1st round pick they're going to get. How much better? Dunno, but 8-8 should be much more realistic if they show some improvement. What sucks is that'll probably be a pretty good OT/DT the Raiders really could have used... in the 2011 draft.

I totally agree. We just need the WRs to do a better job getting off the line...like I stated in the NFL thread, once THAT happens, they will free themselves up for big plays.
....NOW, to get ourselves a QB....oh boy, this will be a task....
Like I said before....there was no way Jeff Garcia could have pulled this off. The Gradkowski kid is YOUNGER version of Garcia without the miles....and the a$$ho** mentality.

Problem with winning, which Cleveland is also going through, is it creates the illusion that not much more needs to be done to keep the team winning.

Bengals have been on the cusp for a long time though, off the field stuff and Carson's injury have really kept them from being the team we see today.
On the bright side, if you slip to the teens, or double digits in the draft, it's harder to pay someone 30 million before you know if they're a bust or not.

The strong finish i was referring to was the Raiders last season, winning against a Texans team with nothing to play for and the Tampa Bay team that threatened to go defeated this year, after ending their season with one of the worst defensive collapses ever with Kiffin leaving.

Last year's STRONG FINISH was due to the emergence of a WR in Schillens, RB Michael Bush a completely healthy TEAM.
This year, they had TONS of health issues and a tougher schedule. As much as I wanted to will this team to better record, it was asking too much in many ways. I mean HOW teams would do well with an almost completely depleted offensive line, their best RB injured, their best WR injured ???!!
The Walrus will NOT be fooled. He knows what needs to be done and wins against cupcakes don't mean much.

Any news out of Oakland as to who will start? Please tell me it'll be Charlie Frye. His homecoming would add to the storyline to Sunday's game.
