Salsa, I give you and your Raiders props for a good year, with a win next week they will have done much better than I originally thought they would. :up
I think I originally figured them for 6 maybe 7 wins tops.
I actually predicted 7-9 with 9-7 AT BEST and hoping for it. They EASILY took defeat from the jaws of victory in two games(2 point loss in Arizona and a very lack luster loss against the 49ers where the 49ers did EVERYTHING they could to give that game to the Raiders.) BUT, that is how the football bounces and you gotta take the good with the bad. Coming into this year, yeah the stench of Ja-Fatass Russell was gone, but you had a new QB that was going into his 5 straight year new system and I knew it was gonna take time. Next year, all the team has to do is stay healthy. IF they can do that, I think they WILL BE a playoff contender.
Sorry to change the team, but I've been impressed with Detroit .... They ARE moving in the right direction, if Stafford can STAY healthy (or they draft another top QB, LUCK, ain't gonna happen.)
I picked 5-6 wins and it looks like they may make it. Win next week and they could be A surprise team !
They BEAT Da'Bears twice this year and didn't get either WIN on thier record.
Someday they won't be a team with a penalty waiting to happen.
If they have a good play, you can be sure there was a flag somewhere .... that attitude is finally STARTING to change.
Ok, now back to the regularly scheduled Raiders thread !
No worries Jimbo....I have been impressed with how hard the team is playing too....
How could the Raiders not improve by 3-4 games with dumping Jamrcus Russell. That Cancer loss helped.
The Raiders had a decent year, They need to get a real Quarterback.
We were picked to have 3 or 4 wins and most fans were hoping for a .500 season which is still within reach and surprisingly there were 2 or 3 games we should have won that would of had us in contention. Too much youth and too many injuries hampered a better season. I actually think both Gradkowski and Campbell are worth keeping but we can't keep going back and forth; so pick one already (even tho both seem injury prone) and maybe draft a franchise guy to TRAIN, not throw into the lineup from day one. Hopefully we maintain this core group and for GOD'S SAKE please inject some star power at the o-line level!! That being done wins us the AFC West and maybe one playoff game next season.
Campbell seems better in Oakland then he did in Washington. That I'll give you!
and they need to leave the coach alone. stability has been the key for the raiders the last couple of years........
McDaniels to the Raiders????
per rotoworld:
Report: Raiders 'intrigued' w/ Josh McDaniels
According to longtime San Francisco reporter Nancy Gay, the Raiders are "intrigued" with ex-Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels as a replacement for Tom Cable.
Gay also passes along "word from Alameda" that Al Davis won't pick up Cable's contract option for 2011, a scenario already reported as "unlikely" by Adam Schefter of ESPN. According to Gay, current Raiders OC Hue Jackson also intrigues Davis as a head coaching candidate. Cable must be informed by January 18 whether his option will be exercised. Right now, it's not looking good. Jan. 2 - 5:53 pm et

I thought I had heard that McDanial was going to go as an OC somewhere, not HC.
Could that have been San Fran ?
