Help with Sportster Power

Folks:

Got a Sportster for Christmas. I'm using the car kit in my Lincoln Mark VIII.

How can I "hardwire" the power into my fuse box, or off of the battery?

Can I clip off the cig lighter end and connect these to a fuse? Is so, what amp?

this one is for XM but you would be looking for something similar

I wouldnt recommend just clipping the cig adapter and trying to use that.
