First of all, I apologize if this is a "dumb" question or topic, but I need some help.
I currently subscribe to Dish Network via a reseller called "Accelerated Broadband" in South Florida, which my condo association switched to from cable. The decision to switch was not a popular one and they've tried to get out of the satellite contract, but that's another topic.
My current problem is intermittent "pixelized" reception on a few HD channels - namely CNN HD, Disney HD, Bravo HD, ABC Family HD, etc. The other HD channels are pretty stable. This problem only happens on my VIP622 HD DVR in the living room. I have another HD receiver in the bedroom, which is pretty stable on all channels.
I've had the technicians out and usually, the HD channels are working perfectly when they come out. One of the techs recommended I upgrade the cable splitters to avoid signal loss, which I have done - buying the best splitters I found at Home Depot.
Whenever troubleshooting this over the phone, the representatives usually have me do a channel scan, which sometimes helps temporarily, but the problem then comes back a few hours or days later.
I doubt it's a weather issue as for example, the image was fine yesterday when the technician was at my place and it was stormy outside. A few hours later, it was bright and sunny when the CNN HD channel was unwatchable due to all the pixelization.
Our building is very tall and there are supposedly very large dishes on the roof. I also spoke with my building manager, but it seems I am the only one having this issue, which doesn't mean much, as I doubt many of the elderly people in my building even have HD TVs.
Can anyone please give me any suggestions? Thanks!
