Hey guys, I just upgraded my dish to the new slimline 5 LNB dish in order to get HD channels and I installed it and aimed it and everything but I can only get SD channels and when I tune it to any HD channel it switches between messages, searching for signal and multiswitch error. What did I do wrong? I didn't use a signal meter I just adjusted it until I got a usable signal, could this be the reason? maybe it just needs some more fine tuning? Please help. thanks.

Likely its not aimed correctly. What heading do you have it pointed to now and what is your zip code?
I'm not sure the azimuth direction and I just copied the tilt and elevation of the previous dish that was there.
Not the way to do it. You need to check with your MPEG4 receiver, put in your zip, and use the settings that it comes up with.
I just had almost the same problem. Make sure you have a BBC hooked up to the back of your new HD receiver. D* did not send me one with my new receiver like they should of. I had to call them and get one sent to me after I was told I neeeded one by some helpful person on this site. Call them and they will send you one for free.
