HELP with Dish Online

I just purchased a homeplug ethernet adapter after watching the video that Dish sent to my DVR a few weeks ago. I followed the instructions and everything is telling me that I am connected online. The problem is that when I hit my DVR button, my menu does not have option 5 for dish online. I called tech support and he told me to contact my internet provider.

I am not a techincal person at all, but this doesn't make any sense to me. The Dish receiver is telling me that I AM connected to broadband. How would my DSL provider (ATT) be able to help me with my Dish receiver. Please Help! Thanks
 
Check and see what software you have. You should have L4.48 to have DISH online. IF you don't then call DISH and ask them how and when to download your software update to get dishonline.
 
You did not give more specifics on your configuration.

If you only have the DSL modem then you will need to purchase a router.

This will give you the ability to have multiple devices networked together and get IPA addresses.
 
I do have the L448 software. The tech support person told me how to check that.

Also, I have a 2Wire 2700HG_B Gateway. I am using a homeplug ethernet adapter for the dish receiver. The adapter is plugged into my gateway and my dish receiver is plugged into an outlet. When I check my connection to the dish receiver it says that I am connected.
 
Still getting the run around

It has now been over 2 months since I contacted Dish about not having the dishonline option. I have read some other posts similar to mine and don't see anyone that has gotten a resolution. I too had the option 5 when they first sent out the video on DVR encouraging us all to hook up to it. Now I do not have option 5. I am not really sure when it disappeared off my DVR menu because I didn't have it hooked up and it was just grayed out. Now that I have the broadband connection, it is not even an option. I have talked to their tech people so many times. They told me it would be fixed in a couple of weeks last December. I finally called back last week to see what was going on. Now they just decided to send me a new receiver. I spent over an hour last night hooking up this new receiver and activiating it and guess what!!! No dishonline option!! I am really annoyed with Dish right now. It seems like they have no clue what is going on. I know everyone on this forum has said that dishonline is not anything to get excited about but I am just more irritated at the time I have wasted on this. If anyone has fixed this problem, please let me know. Thanks!
