i set up my system PANSAT2700A WITH FORTEC STAR DISH AND COOLSAT LNB, iget between 70 to 80 signal on most of the satellites strenght but 0 picture quality and 0 channels on searching.zip code is 19116.

First you need to pick a satellite to receive, I'd try AMC4 at 101-degrees. Your 2700A (I have one) should have preinstalled transponders and symbol rates for AMC4. The strongest channel (transponder) to find is FOX in Beaumont, TX (KUIL). The freq. is 11708-vertical with a symbol rate of 2170...again this freq. and symbol rate should already show up on your on-screen guide as a preinstalled channel. Someone smarter than me has already posted elevation angles for AMC4 for your physical location. Once you know the elevation angle, set that angle then just swing your dish east to west until you get a signal. I'm in Wisconsin, so my elevation angle is 37-degrees, but I assume being in Philly your elevation angle will be quite a bit higher than 37-degrees.

Actually, I just looked it up. You elevation angle for AMC4 should be about 37-degrees. Just get to the onscreen menu for AMC4, select 11708, the symbol rate next to it should already read 2170. Make sure your dish mount is set at about 37-degrees (I just use a cheap angle finder set on top of the dish mount). Once the dish mount is at 37, just swing the dish (for you it will be an azimuth of 216-degrees south) east to west (for you the dish will probably be aimed southwest) and you will get a signal. I get 95% quality on Fox Beaumont.........good luck.

Nelu....

Keep in mind that "Signal Strength" means absolutely nothing when it comes to aiming your system. Don't even look at it. You need to watch the quality meter.
