HELP SATMEX5

hey guys I need help locating satmex5 on 116 I cant seem to locate it I had signal I went to move it a lil to improve it and lost it completely no I cant even find it at all I have a direct tv international dish with a fortec star lifetime ultra any help is appreciated

For some reason, I can only get Satmex5 if I move it slightly to the east. Are you using a motor with USALS? Try changing the position from 116.8 to 116.4. I don't know why, but it works for me and a few other folks on here.

Satmex 5 can be a bit tricky but try different transponders that are strong enough for your small dish.

12064V SR2369 Expande Tv
12126V SR5399 MTY1 MTY2

Try any of these.

Satmex c band is weak in wv

Satmex 116 C Band for some reason is weak in Puerto Rico with a 5-8" dish used to have it with no problem the only tp I am getting signal is 3720 Edusat channels

alright guys i gave it a go i cant seem to get any channels i believe i found the satellite but on quality im gettin 70 but in signal im gettin zero i do have a linear lnb maybe i might need a bigger dish and not this direct tv international dish, but am i correct that some channels on satmex5 are linear ku and not just c band

I don't get any Ku from that sat with my setup either. There is supposed to be some though. The Good news is, SatMex 8 launched a few hours ago and will replace this bird.

Re: Ku-band. There are a few (check out The List)...and some news/sports feeds out of Mexico sometimes. Very weak though. Like I said, I have to input 116.4 instead of 116.8, even though my motor tracks 30W to 125W perfectly. This is with a 90cm dish.

Hey sublogo.. u said u are using a directv international dish. So my question to you is since it has 2 LNBs are u using the correct one to scan satmex?? Asking caz it has 2 LNBs which one is circular polarity and the other is Linear polarity. Make sure you are using the correct one and that your have the settings right also on the receiver.
