Help on Accessing DVR events on HR20 with no sat connection

I need to figure out how to bypass the searching for guide, I am tring to access events on my HDDVR and watch them at an event. I thought I could do this, but when I go the event, it gives me a blank screen and the 771 code, searching for satellite signal in 1&2.

By events do you mean My Playlist recordings? Are you trying to watch something recorded when the receiver is not plugged into a dish?

yes, no satellite hooked up

I tried to do a simular thing while in the 5th wheel, I wanted to JUST use the OTA tuner, but also was unable to do that without the dish pointed.
Once the dish was pointed it went thru the set up procedure and THEN I could remove the sat connection and be fine, until it lost power again.

IF there is a work around, I would be very interested in it.

So as of right now, I do not think you can do that, though someone here may have a solution .....

I could do this with the HR10-250 HD Tivo. Havent tried it with the HR20.

The only solution I've seen is to connect the unit to a UPS and move it after first finding the sats at home.
