Recently, after 3 Years I experienced LNB Failure due to the elements. So I changed it with a ASC322. T5 is my primary Sat that I look at. However, ever since I installed the new LNB , I have not been able to lock on T5. I have tried different things. Now, I have mounted it on my Chimney, but there is no hope. Galaxy 4R is easily found but T5 isn't. Galaxy 3 is also there,,,, I think.

I have tried different Frequencies and Tp settings and I can not find it. Going back to the Basic as per manual,,, It says to select Dish 3, Tp8. I have tried different Frequencies as per Lyng Sat. I have updated the Flash E-rom of my receiver. I have even tried using an analog Sat Finder,,, IT is a good tool but does not identify Satellites and I don't want to spend $400 for a Birdog. I have a Bec6600+

My Zip Code is 18360.. My Elevation is 37.7°, Azimuth 221.8° with 11 to 13 Magnetic deviation, 23.1° Polarization.. I have even taken the Receiver to the roof with a small tv and Moved the dish back and forth in small °'s and I had no lock.

LNB LO freq is set to 10750.. But it has to #'s..
I would appreciate if somebody can help me with this.. I don't think it is a Hardware issue,,, Then again, the LNB failure could have caused some sort of Degradation. I am not sure if the Frequency is correct. :bow

Hello and WELCOME to the SatelliteGuys.US FTA Forum!

I guess you have tried both ports on the LNBF? Other than that the best way to trouble shoot would be to have a spare LNBF. Otherwise maybe check all connections again.

Let's try again

Right now it is freezing to go on the roof and play with the dish. I did buy a small 2.5" TFT monitor so I can take my receiver on the roof and align it that way. This beats buying a $400 Sat Finder, which I might have to buy one eventualy. If somebody has a used one that works and willing to give me a Bargain price,, email me.

Somehow I have a feeling that 3 things is happening.

1. The LNB that I am using is not good enough,, which I might have to buy the high performance one.
2. Some of the Tree branches over the distance have grown long enough to interfere with my T5 signal (Solution, Cut the neighbors tree down :) ).
3. The receiver Tunner is degraded due to my last failure. I have pictures of the inside the LNB when after 3 years if anyone is interested.

I gave up. Tree Braches won

# 2 appears to be my # 1 cause. I determined that @ 99°, which is G4 there aren't as many branches in the way but @ 97° there are branches. It is a apple tree that belongs to my neighbor. The Tree branches are growing straight up. After 3 years I brought my dish down. I suppose, I have to find a new house up on the hill next.

There are plenty of chainsaws in use down here in New Orleans right now :D

Chainsaws are the FTA enthusiast's best friends :)

Things might work out better if you wait until the neighbor goes out of town for a bit...
