Help hooking up my sg2100 motor

Hi is there any way i can get hispasat 1c, I live in grand rapids michigan, my zipcode is 49506

and, i have pictures of my dish with a motor, its supposed to go on my roof, but i don't know if this is right, so i will post a picture, soon

Since HispaSat is at 30W, your location is 55.6 degrees West of it. That means your HH Motor will have to turn as far EAST as possible to reach that satellite. Yes it is possible with a STAB HH motor since the azimuth rotation on the motor is around +/- 60 degrees.

Hispasat NAmerican beam is reachable almost to west of IL. We have customers in Chicago who subscribe to the Spanish mux on that satellite and the signal is nice and strong.

I can hit Hispasat 1C in MN...takes a little work but it works

(I have a couple arms on the back of the pole for stability and the only way to hit Hispasat is to take one of those off

Hi again guys, I am sorry i ask alot of questions,

but i am new to this things, i mean i had my satellite hooked before by some one, it was on t5 on my roof, but now i have a motor, and i am trying to hook it up,

oh yah my motor is sg2100
and my reciver is coolsat, I just got that by the way, i am excited, but right now i have nothing to watch lool
so any ways
this is my latitude and longtitude

42.9 N, 85.6 W

i am not sure, which is satellite is my true south
here is a couple ones

am3 at 87
amc 9 at 85 ( by the way this is not in my satellite list)
nimiq 2 at 82

satcom k2 at 81
so which one should I select,

and according to my motor manual for my latitude the elevation should be at 47, now is that for the motor or the dish??
and if thats only for one, what elevation should my dish be set at, and whats declanation angle, and my dish, theres only one place and it says elevations, theres no where that says, declination angel, and if thats how much the dish goes up and down isn't that the same as elevation??

and depending on which satellite is my truth south, what is my azimuth, and what number is it supposed to be pointing on my compass, sorry i'm confused about magnetic deviation process, so i will really appreciate the help, i was just reading some one post, and it didn't take him a long time, and i am jelouse loool, i hope i get lucky this time too, its beeen a couple of days now.
so please please help

I would use AMC-3 @ 87w as your true south satellite.

Motor elevation should be set at 47 deg. (one side will be at 47 the other will be at 43 your lat.)

The dish on the motors elevation should be set at 23.4 deg.

The declination is 6.6 deg. but you do not need to set that, just the motor and dish elevation.

thanks, what about polirazation, am i supposed to set it to zero, or 1.5, and also the lnb i iam supposed to set it to universal 10600 or single 10750

The LNBF should be straight up and down for your true south satellite. "zero"

What kind of LNBF do you have, what does it say on it?

my lnb is pansat the model number is p975o or some thing like that, but i give up man. for every satellite i try the signal is there, around 70 some times higher, but i can't get more than 10 on quality, its beeen couple days, and i give up, hopefully i find somebody who can hook it up for around 60 bucks, one guy told me, one hundred and its worth it, but right now i don't have it, any ways, thanks for all the help guys

keep in mind that you can take the LNB off the dish and point it at the ground and get signal... Quality is what you need to pay attention to when dish pointing.

Is your receiver USALS compatible? If so why don't take advantage of it instead of racking your brains .

Configure and set the USALS parm. on the satellite that your trying to find.
The motor will move into the proper position. Then all you have to do is adjust your elevation & position on your mast. This is the easiest way instead of configuring your dish for south. Just make sure your rotor elevation is setup properly.

Hello yes, my receiver is usuals compatible, and I am going to try that, now i have a couple of questions, from your post, okey first You said, instead of finding true south satellite just use usal to move to the right direction for which ever satellite, then just adjust the elevation and so on, now lets say i aimed at a satellite and i got both quality and level or signal what ever u want to call it at a good number lets say 80 for both, but does that mean, if i move to a different satlite i have to do the same thing for that one too?? or will it automatically have signal and quality.

my other question is you said to adjust the motor elevation i get that part, but what about the position of the mast??

this is alot of headeache than i thought lool but really i don't want to give up till i get this, so all you people who know how this things work, please be patient with me,

After proper installation you only have to peak in your true south satellite then all the others will also be lined up. USALS over to the next satellite and do a blind scan.....bang the FTA channels are there!

The mast should be as plumb and level as possible.

Its a good idea to find a few satellites without a motor before adding it to the equation.

Hello again guys,hope u all doing good.

some of you might know, but i am trying to install my motorized dish on my roof, and by the ways thats the only way i could hook it up because on my backyard. trees all over the places, and in front yard,. i have to put it right in the middle of my yard, which would be so gay, and i think my neighbors would make a big fuss about it, but any ways, see i think on my roof, i can't have my dish every whhere either cuz of the trees, but i figured that i can only have a stationary dish on my roof, because the dish its on the roof, it won't move around i think, so it can be only stationary, unless some one can tell me where i ccan get a long pole mast for the roof, i just got a universal mount from sadoun, i thought that might help, but its short also unless i am doing some thingng wrong, here is a couple of pictures,

i would really appreciate any help, for poling mast or any thing like that, i don't wnat to get any thing that passes 50 dollars

There are larger pole mounts available so that you can clear a roof (sloping up). I think Iceberg had the same problem over the weekend.

The mast is not plumb! The mast should be rotated 90 degrees. Use a level to make sure the mast is plumb and level all round or you will never get any where.

The mast supports should be on the lowest part of the roof (towards the edge), then the mast will be higher up the roof, thats your problem!

You may still need a slightly bigger mast to ensure the dish clears the roof when it motors!

If you have a look at the grey satellite base you have on your roof right now, it will show you the direction the mast will have to be!

I would mount it on an eve if you could, and agree with last post, arm should be as plumb as possible and turned around. Don't worry about trees if they are a ways away i.e., 100 to 200m, you should be fine.
