Bocas del Toro, Panama
Here we are in Panama starved for entertainment in the English Language.
I was hoping that a satellite setup might help. Does anyone have any ideas about what might be possible down here ?

Thanks for any help

Tony

Unless someone has a better idea, you might try this:

Look through the English language programming listed on FTAlist web site.
When you find a satellite you like, then look it up on Lyngsat.com and check for the coverage map.

For example, let's say you wanted to try old time movies on the Whitesprings movie channel
(...and I mean crumbling celluloid , and faded colors...)
That's on the 129ºW satellite.
Scroll down to where you see the Whitesprings programming, then look to your right to the column labeled beam.
Click on the Ku link to see a map of the coverage for that satellite.
On the map page, figure out where you are and what the signal level might be.
On the right is a chart of dish sized recommended for that signal level.

Hope that's not too confusing.
(and that I didn't leave out a step) :)
