help finding 61.5

when I check with sat finder program it says 147az 36el
when I check with sat program from Dish it says 147az 36el
when I check with other online resources they say 147az 36el

1st installer only checked back yard. Too many trees to see either 129 or 61.5

2nd installer checks all around says 165az 36el (no line of sight) I tried to get him to look at 147 but he just wasn't in the mood to listen or discuss it.

Please advise what I should do.

I do have an old 300 dish and lnb. Could I use then in some manner to check my position?

His ZIP...46761...puts him in the very, very NE corner of Indiana.

If you're using a dish 300, you should be pointing at 146.3 with respect to true North with an elevation of 36 degrees. The magetic North setting should be 151.3. These numbers are based on the given zip code. Actual latitude and longitude numbers give more accurate results, but you'll still be within wiggle range.

so could I just string a cable form the receiver to the dish and set the pointing screen to 61.5?

Yes. Be forewarned that SD receivers will see zero signal strength on TPs 1-7... I got bitten by that one.
