I just got a Dish 500 from my neighbor. I want to mount it on the side of my house, which is brick. Any pointers on how to properly mount/align the dish? I live in NW Florida. Any pointers will be appreciated.

make sure you have a level and a drill and bit that is powerful enough to go through the concrete or brick. have someone hold it where you want it to go, check to make sure it is plum and mark with something you can see. drill pilot holes then attach.

Dish Mounting

As an alternative, you may want to consider going with a pole mount rather than fighting that brick. A standard chain link fence post (line post) is exactly the right size for the dish.

Goto Home Depot and get some blue Tapcon Concrete Screws. They work better than lag bolts and the best part is when you remove the Dish it leaves 4 tiny holes instead of 4 big holes if you had used standard lag bolts.

would those screws work for attaching plywood to cover my windows for hurricane protection?

Another rain issue question!

Yes Hd
