HELP :: disconnected DISH to try cable

well i tried another round of cable two days ago. When I realized I was not getting HD channels ( due to the area I'm in) I had the cable company shut it off. i went ahead and hooked my dish back up and NOTHING!!

i have dish vip211.

when using 'point dish' utility and imputting my zip code nothing registers.

can someone help? its driving me nuts and all dish says is they will send out a tech in 5 days! ahhhh!

try doing a check switch in signal strength screen,that may help

you'll have to excuse my ignorance. is this the same check switch in the 'point dish' screen?

Make sure all your coax is still there, and connected, and not cut. There seems to be this amazing coincidence where satellite coax gets repurposed to cable, or mysteriously "parts" when cable is installed. Sometimes, when cable is installed next door.

I'm thinking perhaps a diplexer or a fitting at the ground block is missing

At least in my area, cable techs are know for cutting/ reusing the rg6. You got to love them....
