I'm getting my new Direct system installed this week and I am just waiting for my H20 receiver to arrive..the installer has already called to see if it has arrived yet but I informed him not yet.

While I had him on the phone I inquired as to what dish I was getting and it wasn't the new one that everyone is saying is out and I need that one; I have been told to get my local chanels in Hi Def without the use of an off air atenna and he is telling me that as of now that is not availble in my area.

Is he feeding me a load or is that true? Can I get my locals in HD without using an off air antenna with my H20?

Regards ST*

Depending on how far the tower is from you will depend on if you can receive the ota HD signal.

I thought I read somewere they are required now to put up the AT9 dish if the customer is getting a H20.

In regards to: Hellllp!1

Thnx everyone..Im not sure if I am close enough or not and have no idea of they have a tower in my area for receiving HD OTA, but the installer did say he would send an email asking about it and would find out if I am suppose to get the AT9.

Since I read the post that I am suppose to get it regardless as of the 6th then when he calls me back I will make sure that is what he is bringing me.

What you need to do is contact you local station office and ask were the tower is and what range the HD coverage is. I am sure they have a website that you can go to and email them or call them. :)

To find out where your local signals are, go to this site select "Choose and Antenna", and put in your zip code. It will tell you where the stations are in reference to your location.

My receiver and dish are suppose to be here tomorrow but the dingleberries on the phone from the company I ordered from could not tell me if it is the AT9 or not.

Will I be able to tell by looking at the dish when it is delivered tomorrow if in fact it is the AT9?

Stalker - why not just call someone local??? Heck if you're getting the Phase five dish you may not even have line of sight, and I'm guessing if that is the case the "dingleberries" on the phone from the comapny you ordered it thru will not refund the bogus shipping and handling fee they charged you. I have always wondered why people pay a shipping and handling fee to some satellite dealer or retailer when they can look in the phone book and call a local business.

Quite a bit of difference and looks like Im screwed as im sure I am geting the 18x20 dish!

Thnx for the info on that

You are right! That was my first mistake..i just picked them out of our local yellow pages but this company wasn't local and were extremely pushy to sell an extended warranty.

I should have just signed up locally.
