Heavy rumors of Calipari to Kentucky....

Guys, listen- judging by what I said, it feels like I may have gone too far.

I may consider taking a break from this site for a few days- maybe I could cool off, since I've been going on.

I'm not going to post for a few days. I may need to do some personal soul-searching.

I agree. Imagine you're a recruit who signed on there because of Calipari and the success he has brought to the program. How would you feel??

He's been successful everywhere he's been at the college level so it's safe to assume he'll be fine at UK.

But, the schools and ADs also bear some responsibility. As long as these "outs" exist in their contracts, coaches will continue to take full advantage of it.

ABSOLUTELY!!:up:up They should out clauses where IF the coach wants to leave, they have to pay the university twice the contract. That is why I love the one year contract with the option after that. Give the player/coach an extra bonus IF the team does well and he decided to come back.

I guess there's no recession in Kentucky. That's a lot of $$$ for the 2nd best coach in the state.

And when I said this, everybody thought I was wrong. This guy should be the only candidate on K's list. Why would he leave? Why would he stay? Kentucky's calling! When Kentucky, Indiana, UCLA, NC, or Kansas call, you answer and listen, very carefully. This is chance for him to coach at a university where BB is KING! Not to mention all the "little" things they can provide that Memphis can't, like state of the art facilities, money, prestige, did I mention money? But most of all, IT'S KENTUCKY! Kids call you about playing there.

Since SabresRule is off "soul searching" (is that what the kids call it now-a-days?), in his honor I will try to fill his shoes (just for now).

See I told you so! I can see the future! Want to know who will win the next 5 NCAA titles? Super Bowl? How about the first round of the NFL draft?:D

Just kidding, Sabre.;)

Guys, when I gave my opinion on this, it got me into some hot water.

I'll try and be more calm about this today.

Honestly, from a basketball perspective, I can understand why Kentucky wanted to go after Calipari and why Ramy would want him as coach.

Also, it'll make some of Kentucky's SEC games a lot more interesting.

McCoy and Ramy will have a field day when the Bayou Bengals play the Wildcats twice next year.

What Calipari needs to do is get off to a strong start and beat the creampuffs that you gat early in the season. IMO, the Gardner-Webb and San Diego losses were the first sign of things to come for Gillespie.

They only play each other once, since they are in a different division.
