HDMI/VIP622/Sony KDL-40S2000 - No Picture

I think this is key. Did you try another HDMI device (DVD Player, Game Console, etc.)? That will verify if it is you 622 or the TV. Sounds like it might be the folks at Sony that you need to be talking to. I have the Vizio VU42LF and I had an HDMI2 port go bad, but when that happened, it would flash between the input and the "No Signal Found" message.

Unfortunately I don't have another device to try.

So let me get this straight...if it works with 1 device, it should work for all?? It couldn't be a firmware/software issue on the TV? Or could it possibly work for, say, HD DVD, but not for my Dish 622?

If you are able to get your TV to work with another HDMI device, you have ruled out your TV and the cable as the issue, which just leaves your receiver as the possible cause. The HDMI port could be bad. However, if another HDMI device does not work with your TV, either, you cable is bad, or your TV is either set incorrectly, or your TV HDMI port is bad. Either way, if you were able to test it, you would at least them know which tech folks you need to be talking too.

Did you run the HDMI test? Menu 6, 3, Analysis, HDMI test.

What dis it report (especilally status 1 and status 2)?

Did the HDMI port see the TV at all?

Dish Tech should have run you through this.

Here's what it reported, let me know what you think!:

It also has a whole bunch of EDID pages, looks like hex characters; also some rxksv, txksv, and at characters; I could add those later if anyone deems then necessary to help me isolate my problem.

Thanks!
