I just had a HR-21 installed and I see it has HDMI port. My HDTV only has a DVI input (2003). I saw a cable that is HDMI on one end and DVI on the other. Should I use this instead of the componenet video cables - will it affect my HDTV from the HR-21? I know I still need the audio jacks but will the picture be that much better using the HDMI/DVI cable? I have a Panasonic 53" - 16x9 rear projection HDTV and use the AM-21 for OTA (HD).
Thanks!

Get one from a store that you can return it if it doesn't make a large enough improvement in your mind.
Give one a try, don't spend $ 100 for it, that would be foolish.

If you look around you may find an adaptor for it too, they probably are not as good as the cabvle itself, but might tell you what you want to find out, I found one awhile back for like $ 30.

The HDMI and DVI standards are the same. Some DVI devices do not contain audio. Make sure the cable you buy supports DVI audio even if your equipment(today) does not.
Good Luck

One correction to this, DVI does NOT support audio at all. It does not have the bandwidth to do so. The DVI adapter will support the HD video, as will Component. Either would be comparable as you are looking at a lossless digital video signal either way. The main advantage to HDMI over Component and DVI is a single thinner cable that also supports audio eliminating the need for more cables for the audio signal. Both offer equal quality as far as the video signal.
