HDMI audio unpredictable

I have two DirecTV receivers: H20 and HR20.

When I connect the HR20's HDMI port to a current model LG LCD TV, I get video and audio just fine. But, when I connect the H20's HDMI port to the same TV, same cable, I get only video -- no audio.

To see if the H20 is passing audio via the HDMI port I connected its HDMI port via the same cable to a JVC RPTV and got both audio and video.

Any suggestions?

Does the H20 have the latest firmware? Does it have an audio output setting to adjust?

I have no idea about the firmware. I'll check. The only audio adjustment is PCM enabled or disabled, which I've tried both ways with no change. What's weird is how the JVC receives the audio but the LG does not -- not from the H20. As I wrote originally, the HR20 plays fine on both. I'm wondering if there's some sort of handshaking thing going on.

this might seem stupid so pardon me..........i was thinking about a mirroring problem. i had that years ago when i first got the h10. that and my tivo unit were out of snyc until directv figured out what was going on.

but then, that might have nothing to do with an audio problem.....cable problem? just thinking off the top of my sometimes slow noggin!
