Pardon my ignorance, but it seems there are two listings for HD channels in the guide. One is typically something that makes sense like 42 and the other is like in the 9000 range. Is this the exact same feed or is one more reliable?

Your channels may appear in up to say several places:
The 94xx numbers were the original place for national HD. They have crowded in to the 950x.
The 100-499 are the SD nationals. The remapped HD channels--if mapped are alongside the SD counterpart, if any, with HD-only filling in there, too. 5xx for PPV... with some in HD.
Those in one or more other packages, usually blacked out to you, may be in the 5xxx but may be found by searches and timers. Those blacked out cannot be recorded nor viewed.
Some that Dish wishes to push are in the 70-99 range.
Your local-into-locals (LIL) may appear in the 5000s to 7000s and be mapped down to your local number. Over-the-air (OTA) channels (in yellow) will be alongside any map-downs in the guide. LIL analog digitized are in the 8xxx.
