HD receiver question

I'm doing some research about D* and was curious about the HD receiver (not the DVR). Can it also output to a SD television? I currently have 2 HDTV's and 2 SDTV's in the house, but over the next year or so I plan on upgrading the 2 SDTVs to HDTVs. I'd rather not have to pay an upgrade price down the road if I can help it. I know Dish's HD receivers can output to SDTVs, can D*'s do the same?

Yes the D dvrs can output the hdmi,component,composite all at the same time but you will see the same channel on all of them. use you uhf remote to change channels in any room
