I have 3 (311 recievers) in the living room and 2 bedrooms. I wanted to upgrade to a 622 for the living room with the HDTV.

My HDTV has some poor quality with that 311.

Do I really need an HD Pack for the 622? or I can stay with Top 180 because of the 311 recievers.

I'm so confused on what to do. Or should I replace all the recievers to be 622's.

Also, Does the 622 need to be connected to a phone line?

The 622 can replace the 311 for the bedroom and be you HD solution in your main room.

If you BUY the 622 then there are no programing requirments so yes you can stay with you current package. BUT if you dont take the an HD package E* will charge you 6.00 a month...(go figure) You will also pay 5.00 a month for not having it hooked up to a phone line.

With the HD Gold Pak you will still get all of the Top 180 channels on the other receivers. The HD Gold Pak is just the Top 180 with the HD channels added.
