HD Locals- easy question

Hey guys new to the site. I have a couple easy question's and I am sure most of the people out there can answer these for me.

1.) I am trying to find out what dish do I need to receive HD locals in Scranton PA? The 3 LNB one or the new larger 5 LNB Slimline KA/KU. Where do you find this out?

2.) if the answer is the larger 5 LNB SlimLine KA/KU can the older 3 LNB dish receive atleast the regular locals and major HD (ie ESPN, CNN, TBS etc) or do you need the KA/KU for everything. Can someone give me a little breakdown on the differences in these two dishes?

3.) Does anyone know how to install the KA/KU one? I know it's alot harder.

5LNB for HD Locals

3LNB should do SD Locals and HD (non-locals) (at least it used to before MPEG4)

3LNB can be done by the user (with luck)

5LNB Install you really need a meter....

I'm no Pro, but that's what I know!

The answer to all major new HD is the new KA/KU dishes; the PhaseIII is out. I installed mine myself and without a meter; simply patience (about 25 mins) know how and a heading compass.

I am pretty sure that you would need the 5 LNB Slimline Dish. They are harder to put up, not only because they are big and heavy, but there is 7 Satellites that you can pick up. Those are 101 110 119, 2- 103's and 2- 99's.

Be sure to click on the "Multi- LNB Setups" and then choose Directv 5 LNB (99, 101, 103, 110, 119)

You can buy these satellites from some local retailers and online.

I sure wish my local retailer or favorite online shop sold satellites at a price I could afford; doesn't matter, they never have have in stock. LOL
