So will anytime soon, these alleged HD locals for directv ever include. local channels such as community channels or etc ?

As far as the law they are probably only going to carry channels listed as "must carry", they might surprize us. Whats up? What have you read? Do we really want or need local access TV on DBS?

No community channels are not broadcast channels. These are public service channels that cable companies must run as part of their franchise agreements.

Satellite is almost bound by the same rules but instead run national Public Interest channels instead.

You will not see you local cable companies Community Access channels on Satellite.
