HD Install Question

I live in Las Vegas zip 89145. I currently have a dish 500 plus with the 625 receiver.

My question is does the 1000plus they are now installing for HD service need the same line of sight as the 500? I have a very limited line of sight, but the 500 works great. I just dont want to order the upgrade for HD and then not be able to get it because I can't 'see' the correct Sats.

Also it was mentioned before that dish was having inventory problems with new HD hardware, is this still an issue?

**Edit...sorry I think I have the 500 not the 500plus because I currently only receive on 110 and 119

Where in Vegas are you? I'm at Flamingo and Durango. The 1000 will point in the same direction but where we are the 129 sat is nearly impossible to lock on to. I would ask the installer to leave the 500 and add a single lnb dish to point at the 61.5 sat. Thats my setup and it works great.

I would tell the installer to leave the 500 where it is and install a D1000 closeby. Then when he leaves, disconnect the wire from ther 129 lnb and hook it up to 119 lnb of the 500 and point it at 61.5.

You never know what will happen when 129 is fixed and if ever 61.5 is sold. There must be a reason for the 1000 and the 1000+ dishes.
