HD Hockey tonight??

Jack Edwards used to be in the booth for HDNet NHL and in my opinion is excellent. Anybody confirm that Edwards is the booth again this year?

Edwards is not doing the HDNet games. Dan Kelly (jr., I suppose) and someone else. They weren't bad. I thought Edwards was so dry and dull, I couldn't take it, so I am glad he is out (sorry). No one does a TV game as well as Gary Thorne, IMHO. He can make a blowout exciting. Great announcer who loves the game. I also like Sam Rosen who does the Rangers games and Rick Peckham for the Lightning is very good as well. Sure there are others.I guess OLN tabbed Mike Emerick do to their national games - he is good as well.

BTW, the Lightning game on 95 looked AWESOME. Sunsports does not do many Lightning or Magic games in HD, but when they do it is among the best picture I have seen. In comparison, the HDNet game last night did not look as good to me.

Jack Edwards is now doing Bruins road games. Thorne and Rosen are excellent. I hate the Rangers, but Rosen and Davidson might be the best announcing team in sports, IMHO.

That's good to hear even though we don't get that channel. Looks like OLN will indeed show games through INHD then at least until they launch a channel of their own.

I wonder if we will see any Fox Sports NHL coverage on channel 95.

Yeah right, if you think Comacast will share their HD hockey coverage with Satelite providers. The deal with the NHL was provide the hockey though the regular OLN sd version, their was nothing about HD sharing.

Edwards is one of those announcers that you either love or hate. I've actually never seen him call a hockey game. I loved him as a soccer commentator but many US Soccer fans despise him.

Anyway, glad he's still in the business.

Who did the OLN commentary last night? I was in a bar and they had the audio of the Pens game on. I recognized Bill Clemente in the studio but who else is on the OLN team?

it wasn't mike emerick or anyone I recognized from espn or espn2. What happened to gary thorne and the announcers from the abc coverage of the nhl? Did they move over the nbc and why isn't nbc doing more games or the all star game?
