I just joined and DirecTv double charged me for HD Access. Instead of 1 line item, there were two and only one $10 HD Free for Life credit. I spent 15 minutes on the phone with a CSR who insisted I was getting free HD access, even though I explained to her that there were two charges and one credit, and all of the charges, fees, and credits reconciled perfectly and it was clear that I was paying $20 for a service and getting $10 back. She refused to get a calculator and eventually hung up on me as I explained line by line. I called back and dealt with another CSR for 15 minutes who finally acknowledged the billing error and "cancelled the second service" for me.
I had signed up directly through directv.com, so it's pretty crazy how it could double up the fee. Unless they manually enter this stuff it seems like there is some kind of glitch and new customers should keep a close eye on their first bill.
