Firewall was my first combo DVD/HD-DVD disc. I was suprised how great the PQ was on the HD-DVD side. I didn't think you could get that good of PQ with just a 15 GB disc. A pleasant suprise! :D

Also, it gave me the chance to see how much better HD-DVD is than DVD, considering it has the DVD on the flip side (assuming it was created using the same master). Amazing the extra details and much better colors on the HD-DVD side. Color banding during low-light scenes is a thing of the past!

Anyways, just wanted to say check out a combo disc! You can't really appreciate HD-DVD without having seen SD DVD of the exact same film!

Actually its a horrible comparison if you are not comparing HD DVD at its best so far on a 30 GB disk to DVD. Combo disks need to die and fast!

OK OK OK. :) Yes, combos suck for best PQ and best price. But, as a comparison between SD & HD, its great. Whenever the wife says something stupid like "that's not much better than the old DVD player". Just pop in a combo disc and prove it is. Plus, combo discs are the same "price" at Netflix. ;)
