Anyone else having problems using their Directv Now login to access HBO Go?

I've been dealing with Directv Now chat for a week now and they still can't seem to fix it.

It's a known issue with Directvnow. I had the same problem but contacted them via chat. They told me they would work on it and the next day I was able to login. I got a $10 credit too for the issue. I don't have a fix for you other than keep bugging them via chat.

I've been chatting with them for a week and received two $10 credits. I just chatted with them yesterday and it still doesn't work.

Keep chatting and use the mounting credits to pay for an HBO Now sub. ;)
Funny how they offer a $10 credit on a service that they claim to offer for $5/month.

Of course if AT&T's authentication is spotty, it isn't worth much. I can't get my head around why they can't fix this as it seems to represent the most likely future for the AT&T pay TV product.

Since it's still not working today, I was able to get another $10 off and then $5 off for the next two months. My next bill will be $10.

They would rather give me credits instead of fixing the problem.

This is probably why Zookster suggested that you use those credits on your DIRECTV Now subscription to subsidize a subscription to HBO Now.

A direct subscription will cost you three times as much but I'm expecting (and maybe I'm wrong) that AT&T will raise the HBO price to $14.99 sooner or later. They figure if they keep you on the teat, you'll continue to subscribe through them after the price difference closes up. What they're not figuring on is that you want to watch HBO, not collect credits that you can't cash out.

Well, I think I know what the problem was. My password for Directv Now had an "&" in it. When I changed my password it said you can only use letters, numbers, dashes and underscores (no special characters like !@#$%^&*()+. So when I changed the password it allowed me to log in for HBO Go.

Since your password is between you and AT&T (and would impact any such authenticated services -- perhaps even DIRECTV Now itself), I doubt that was the problem. Then again, if AT&T hasn't integrated authentication into the app and you're having to log into AT&T by hand, maybe your viewing device is making a multi-byte character out of punctuation marks. Ampersands on the Internet are a particularly sticky wicket as they are the character that introduces multi-byte characters. The ampersand character itself may be converted to "&" but certainly not in the context of a password.

Glad to hear that you're no longer suffering.
