Just got an email for REDBOX Instant Streaming for new release movies and the plan is only $8.00 a month. So now we have three streaming sources for around $8.00: Netflix, Huluplus , Redbox.

Well, if you research Redbox IS, you'll find it's not a such a good option for streaming, that is.

The only movies they have on their service are the same ones that are on Epix, any new release movies are PPV on Redbox.
Yep, I tried it out but with already having Amazon Prime and Netflix I couldn't see any reason to keep redbox instant because 99% of their library comes from EPIX. The reason I left the 1% open is because I ran across a couple low budget C movies that weren't on Netflix.
Your best bet is to just rent from your redbox kiosk at $1.50/blu-ray (plus tax, $.12 in Ohio) and skip the streaming. You can rent 6 blurays from the kiosk (in my state $9.72) vs. the four bluray credits plus streaming for (in my state $9.64)
Had no idea what movies that they had from reading the email. I did look at some on the website and they looked fairly new. IF they are Epix movies then I could just get Epix from DISH for 7.00.
To me Starz is more worth it to me, at least in the movie selection, But they also have TV series, and what does HBO got, old repeated movies and TV series shows, granted it also repeated movies but definitely more content to watch including Encore channels.

Hbo and the other movie channels were very good in the 80's. They suck now.

Are you sure you know what HBO is? (I'm not being facetious) HBO has new movies just as other premium movie networks do with more exclusives than Starz has. Of course they can't be all new and they have older movies as well. And like Starz or any movie network the movies are repeated.
I don't believe at anytime did they or do they have old TV series or any TV series. In fact, it is their shows that get picked up by other broadcasters after their run on HBO.They have some of the best original programming on TV, that's not me just saying that, they win awards every year. Boardwalk Empire, Sopranos, Deadwood, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Game of Thrones, True Blood, The Wire, stand-up comics and on and on are must see TV. Boxing and Real Sports are first rate. Real Sports is watched by everyone in the industry and has won multiple awards. (Not a fan of the host but the show is compelling) True Blood and Game of Thrones reach about 8.5 million homes on the first run, and about 13 million for the night, (Boardwalk a close third to those) only Sopranos beat that. Starz has just begun to compete in that area.
If nothing on there is of interest of course you wouldn't subscribe, and plenty of people subscribe to Starz (Much less than HBO however) but your description of what HBO is does not jive with what is on everyday.

HBO has a lot going for it, I subscribe to it. I do not subscribe to netflix (yet). Perhaps someday I will subscribe to Netflix and be content to wait a year for many series to come up on it. I now have TWC HBO which is $15 normal and of course since new sub free for a year. HBO does a good job of keeping its content exclusive for a long time. The problem lately of course is that the series are mostly not worth watching immediately.
I really don't know ,but I wouldn't consider Cinemax worth the money since you can see the same stuff on HBO ,other than original series and the Skinemax soft porn movies after midnight. If you added the Cinemax subs into the numbers with HBO , I am sure that would inflate their total sub numbers. My main point is that Netflix gives you something of value for the small amount of money you pay a month, where as HBO is over inflated in price to see some of the original shows and the same movies you can see on all other premium movie services. Most movies I really want to see, are at the theater in the summer and I will pay to see those because I earn an extra $30.00 every couple of weeks, mowing my neighbor's yard. These are the same movies that are replayed on the premium movie channels 6 months later.
I disagree. I'd rather pay for Cinemax and get rid of HBO. The only two HBO series I ever got into were The Sapranos and Tales from the Crypt. I enjoy the movies over anything else, and Strike Back is a better series. HBO also has the adult content as well, which on both networks is just not needed.
