Mahalo Hckynut, I forgot about the dups that were set up during the 12/16 uplink switcheroo/mapdown thingy:

12/16/2009 12:39pm - Uplink Activity Report - 81 changes

5566 - MAX-W [MPEG4 HD] moved from Ciel-2 129W TP 06 Spotbeam 55 to EchoStar11 110W TP 06 ConUS beam (A) (H)

5565(311) - MAX-W [MPEG4 HD] added to Ciel-2 129W TP 06 Spotbeam 55 (A) (H)

5566 was re-numbered to the Alaska (odd) number 5565 at the original location on 129 spot 55 tp6 and continued with actual Cinemax programming, while a duplicate with the original 5566 number was set up with the mapdown info screen at 110 conus tp6.

I guess when they're finished with the Hawaii HD mapdowns, they can use tp6 at 110 for new national HD.

Here's what I think is a comprehensive list of the Hawaii HD mapdowns that are either missing or not working (because they point to the wrong tp, etc.) and how they might look on an upcoming uplink report:

The 1/6/09 uplink fixed the Hawaii HD mapdowns for SPEED, CMDY, LMN and HMC.

Still remaining are MAX-W, HBO-W, HDTHR and the HD locals.

New Glitches

Well, now we seem to have a new mapdown problem similar to what the the second poster, g182237 was experiencing a while back.

NFL, AMC, SCI, NTGEO, COOK mapdowns sometimes work, sometimes don't. When they don't work, the native channel number does. Example: A program is scheduled to record on 193 SCI but instead of recording, it brings up a 015 or 004 "no reception" error message, yet the native channel number 5532 has perfect reception. Toggle between the two and one works, the other doesn't. Eventually the mapdown will start working again, and the other problematic mapdown channels tend to come back at the same time. Sometimes a reboot solves it, sometimes they switch back on their own.

I wonder if this is a flagging issue and the receiver is sometimes looking for the conus native channel rather than the Hawaii spot one to connect the mapdown with.

What do the great minds on this forum think, and is anyone else having a similar problem?

Not noticing this problem (although I haven't looked for it since I only use the 55** channels to avoid confusion). However, I have noticed what may be a related problem when I search for programming, the search guide ignores the 55** channels and instead lists the programs on the mapdown channel.
