This just blows my mind in regards to Friday. North Dakota State which has a HUGE following in the Twin Cities and the game may NOT be on???

From the Star Tribune

A few hours after assigning the Twin Cities market the Marquette-Utah State matchup as the first game of the day for Friday, a CBS executive admitted a change could be coming that will make North Dakota State’s game against Kansas the primary matchup at 11:30 a.m. that day on WCCO (Ch. 4).

"This was really a tough call and to be honest with you we are still talking to the local affiliate to see what we are going to do," said Mike Aresco, the executive vice president of programming for CBS Sports.

"We could clearly make a change and don’t know ultimately what we will do." Aresco knows there is strong interest in both Marquette and North Dakota State in this market. The Bison are considered a big draw for the Midwest Regional games at the Metrodome. Aresco said talks between CBS and WCCO executives were ongoing and that a final decision would come Wednesday.

Because of the way CBS switches around to various games during its tournament coverage, it’s a safe bet fans watching on WCCO would get to see parts of whichever game was not the primary one.

CBS already has assigned the second and third games at the Metrodome on Friday to WCCO. The station will carry the Dayton-West Virginia matchup at approximately 1:50 p.m. and the Southern Cal-Boston College game at 6:20 p.m. That will be followed by Wisconsin-Florida State, also from Boise, at about 8:45 p.m.

note the bold above. I would like to find 10 people who honestly give a crap about Marquette. Hell find me 5 people in Minneapolis who know where Marquette University is?

DAMN IT WCCO.....GIVE US NDSU!!! You will piss off ALOT of people if we can't see that game. Sure they may get blown out by Kansas but its local, they probably could beat the Goofers, and its their 1st time to the tourney

yay!!!

NDSU-Kansas game to be on WCCO-TV

After originally planning to show Marquette's game in the metro area, CBS has switched and will telecast the North Dakota St.-Kansas game on Friday morning.

A reader survey on startribune.com seemed to indicate an extremely easy decision. The NDSU-Kansas game received 91.6 percent of the votes (1,430) as the preferred matchup and Marquette-Utah State had only 8.3 percent (131).

This doesn’t mean that fans watching WCCO will only see NDSU-Kansas. Because Kansas is a No. 3 seed and will be heavily favored, viewers could find themselves watching a compelling matchup if that game gets out of hand.

WKMG in Orlando is only showing games on their primary digital channel (6.1) and won't preempt any of the LATV programming on channel 6.2. Who watches LATV anyway? The average hispanic watches Univision or Telemundo. WKMG used to show alternate games on 6.2 but stopped last year after their owner Post-Newsweek created LATV.
