I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "can get mn you satellites".
I use my 1600 card with MythTV on Ubuntu Linux to record from my satellite receiver via the S-video connection. MythTV is terrific - it has name based recording, and can create DVD images.
I've signed up to Schedules Direct for my TV schedules. That way I can record all the CFL football games.
But, if you're looking for a way to connect your 1600 directly to a satellite dish, I have no idea.
