Where can I find the best deals on these? I got a box full of new IR emitters a good while back when I bought a bunch of Directv stuff and don't know if I can use those in conjunction with running a signal over phone wire or over the same coax that would broadcast television signal.

First, you have to find out of these IR emitters are 5 volts or 12 volts.

I use the system made by "channel plus" and you can have your whole home wired for remote IR using the existing coax that the TV travels on. They make systems for both 12volts and for 5 volts.

I recommend going the 12 volt route, because other companies also make compatible equipment for 12 volts that you can mix in with your channel plus 12v system. Xantech is one of these. I mix and match Xantech 12v IR sensors with channel plus 12 hubs and distribution amps and agile stereo modulators.

I hope this helps.

Larry.
