It's the cinema trend that's more annoying than sticky theater floors, and can anger a moviegoer even more than paying $7 for a Coke: Theater patrons who use their cell phones during films — whether to text, talk, play games, or even surreptitiously record the film.

I usually turn down the brightness all the way and if I get a text or email I will take my cell phone out and glance at it for a second.

Never have I used it to play games, or send texts during the movie.

I don't care if people use play with their phones during the endless previews, but once the movie starts the phone needs to be on mute and put away.

My brother will annoy me texting during movies. He thinks that turning his screen black with white lettering makes not bother people.

It is not his screen (it is pretty dark), it is the person doing something unusual next to me that is distracting.
