I know you cant pause live tv with a remote reciever,but how about jump forward or back.Also can a show be set up to record with a remote reciever? And, last question, can you create folder for each family member's recordings? TIA.

I think you mean HR34, right?
You can only use trick play on a remote receiver when viewing a recording from the DVR.
You can set a recording on the DVR from the remote receiver.
There is no way to create separate folders.
At least this what I understand from reading this forum as I don't have an HR34.
