One of the members of my church also happens to be my Karate Instructor. Over the Holiday Season he was at the Christmas Eve worship service at our Church. After it was over he and his wife went home to open a few gifts.

When they walked into the house, a gunman who had broken into their home began to fire off shots in Mike's house. He shot a few rounds into the wall, and shot the fish tank. Water was all over the place.

The gunman didn't know that Mike excelled in the martial arts. He fired a few round off in Mike's direction and missed him. Luckily Mike managed to disarm this guy, and brought him to his knees by grabing this guys index finger and nearly snapping it off.
Mike told me later that of all of the guys that he has gone into competition with this guy was as strong or even stronger than any of them. He said, "I put that hold on his finger and it usually puts people to their knees and they don't get up. This guy kept trying to stand, regardless of the hold.

Mike said, "I had to do something, so I roughed the guy up a little bit and I was just about to kill this guy, because my training was taking over, when I remembered my Christian Faith." He got the guy down to the ground and held him there. His wife had by this time phoned the police, who came and this man was arrested.

I was absolutely amazed. I told Mike that I didn't think I could have stopped myself like that, especially since this guy had broken into his house and fired shots at him, his wife, and property.

Mike said, "That guy got a Christmas present that night, his life."

What would you have done?

"because my training was taking over, when I remembered my Christian Faith"

Well, not to be rude but this part sounds like BS... exactly like when a person colours up a story when recalls it...;)

So the guy runs out of bullets and gets disarmed, because NO ONE is that bad of a shot...and this guy isn't chuck norris...and then claims it's not his KARATE training that puts him in control, but his christian faith...

I claim Shenanigans on this whole story...prove it, or be prepared to fight me...

I agree with purogamer. Seems really sensationalized. I don't care how good you are in any martial art, if someone has a gun, you get your family out of the hosue as TOP PRIORITY! You are no less of a man for running and protecting your family and leaving your possessions behind.

This burglar seems so out of whack that it would not have taken martial arts to take him down. No one misses that many times at short range. You say he shot a few round off into the wall and fish tank and a few more in the guys direction. What type of gun was it?

I also don't like the line about his Faith controlling him and not his training. The training is specifically suppossed to keep you in control if done correctly. Martial arts is more than just physical strength, moves and abilities.

Don't you guys watch Kung-Fu movies? Everyone knows that black-belts can catch bullits in their teeth and spit them back at you with deadly force.

Hey, Bruce Leroy, Who's the master?

Maybe after Kung Fu goes live I'll learn this. :)

Apparently Brandon didn't watch his daddy enough.

Ooh, snap...c'mon cdru, c'mon...Don't gotta go there my man, don't gotta go there...

I guess if the robber was really drunk and seeing double he could miss with every bullet but why would you stand there hoping he misses, it's illogical...

Anyone ever concider that maybe he didn't want to hurt anyone. He just wanted to scare them into running out of the house. Burglury is what 7 years. Murder is 20 to life.
