To those with problems: do you remember using the "Safely remove hardware and eject media" feature on windows or did you just pull the thumb drive out of your computer

I always use that feature whenever I disconnect USBs from my computers.

I fear that is what indeed happened with my userdbA.udf file. A closer inspection of the file on my USB stick indicates a size of 0 B; so no content, or maybe some garbage.

As far as I recall, I also safely removed the USB drive from the computer.
