I just called a Retailer to get a HD OTA . They said that Dish turned on My locals Greenville, NC this morning at 9:00a.m. and shoudl call dish and get a new dish install. does anyone have any info about this? I am calling dish now

You still might want to get OTA. If you have an HDDVR (Vip 622/722), you can record 2 local channels in HD at the same time by using it's OTA tuner and one of the sat tuners. Go to AntennaWeb to check your sight lines and distances to your locals. Looks as though you are probably within 20/30 miles of all network stations. I pick up my locals from 50 miles using a small uhf antenna (Silver sensor), so you may not need "retail" help - just buy one (about $25) and hook it up.

You can record 3 at the same time if you have ota, 1 local via ota and 2 more via the sat inputs.
 
If you use a splitter and run coaxial from an OTA antenna to two HDTV's, will the picture quality be affected appreciably? Thanks. :hatsoff:

If you get enought signal to decode the pictures, you will not degrade the digital signal. You either get a perfect as transmitted picture, a pixilated picture, or nothing. No ghosting, no snow, no lousy colors unless transmitted that way.
