Will it be availiable in North America? When you say the price will be very high, how much will it be?

Not that easy to state a price on a product that would have very little appeal for the majority of daily FTA viewers let alone hobbyists.

Taking a unit from prototype to production ..... 20K - 40K+. Commitment to one production run 80K+ , Inbound shipping and customs 4K, Administrative, promotion, advertising .... 20K+ .......

How much if 1 unit were sold wholesale to your local reseller? 100k to 150K
10 units wholesale - 10K - 15K
100 units - 1K - 1.5K
1000 units - $100 - $150
10,000 units $10 - $15
20,000 ........ etc.

Oops! We need to feed and house the employees. Better add a percentage!

It quickly becomes obvious that the market is too small to sell a large enough quantity of units to make a profit in a reasonable period of time for a return on investment. The distributor would be holding a one-off production with limited market and a high wholesale cost that could not be justified in the marketplace. One would also be hard pressed to find a reputible LNBF manufacturer to participate and provide R/D for a project with so little return.

The question really is, How much would you be willing to pay for this type of unit? How many will you purchase? How many of your friends will definately buy one, two or maybe even a dozen?

Now if a major satellite broadcaster committed to distributing a million or so a year units a year, then you would probably see reasonable retail prices......
